Jeremy Davies: Williard 'Sonny' Burns
This is the story of two
young men from Indianapolis who return home after the Korean war and
form a deep friendship. Changed by his experiences during the war,
Gunner Casselman wants to live a more meaningful life than the
superficial one he used to lead as the popular high school jock before
the war. Williard "Sonny" Burns wants to break out of the tedium and
loneliness of being a social outcast and get away from his milquetoast
girlfriend and domineering mother. Jeremy Davies is engaging as he
plays the brooding, nervous Sonny, desperate to change his life but
seemingly trapped by fears of his own inadequacies.
