Anita, a troubled girl
living with an abusive step-father receives a class project in which
all of the students have to find a pen pal. Anita finds her pen pal by
writing to a male prison inmate named Tom. The two fall in love with
each other by their letters and when he gets released and comes to be
with her they become lovers. Tom wants to straighten his life out but
Anita's love of danger and guns takes him back to his life of crime and
the two of them take off on a Bonnie and Clyde run from the law. Jeremy
Davies gives a powerful performance as Bill, one of Anita's
rambunctious, annoying punk kid classmates who constantly teases her
and uses her for sex.
